Limbs and currents
This series of small works on paper was inspired by my trips to the East Dart river for a commission I was working on. On repeated visits to the section of river near Dartmeet, I observed the river flowing through the temperate rainforest.
I was especially drawn to the twisting shapes of the trees, and their darkness when it rained.
The pieces began as gel plate prints, which I then built upon and developed with acrylics and wax pastels.
